Everyday maths - join at any time

Overview

Do you find maths really hard? Do you find doing things like shopping and going out with friends difficult when numbers are involved? This could be the course for you!

You will learn about different parts of maths like numbers, adding and subtracting, time and weight (and some other things too). We will help you to better understand how maths can help you in your day to day life.

You will learn in small, welcoming groups taught by one of our friendly tutors. You will be able to work on your own and, if you want to, as part of a small group. The course happens at one of our centres in different parts of Devon at different times in the day. This means that you can get better at maths while still doing all of you usual important day to day jobs.

Entry requirements

To start this course, you will first meet with one of our friendly team who will ask you to answer some maths questions. This will make sure we can put you on the right course. To make an appointment with our team please contact your local Learn Devon centre.

Assessment criteria

When you are ready, you will be able to take a short assessment. You will be able to talk to your tutor to decide which type of assessment is best for you as some are longer than others. 

What do I need?

We will give you any books you may need for this course. It may be useful for you to bring a pen, pencil and a ruler, as well as some paper to write things down on.

What can I do next?

Once you have passed one of the assessments, you may want to do another one. This could be at a higher (harder) level or one that looks at a different kind of maths. Your tutor will be able to help you make this decision.
