Family Learning
Family Learning courses are fun and practical courses where parents and children can learn together.
Our Family Learning courses help parents, carers and grandparents discover new skills and ways to help their children learn.
How can you benefit?
There are lots of bonuses to joining a Family Learning course. You can find out more about what your child does at school, how they learn and develop, and have the time to talk to other parents/ carers. If you are thinking about working in a school or children’s centre, our courses are a good way to see if it would suit you.
Children love seeing their family in their school, and it really helps them as well as you.
If you join a Family Learning course, you will:
- Develop confidence
- Improve your own skills
- Learn with your child
- Meet like-minded people
- Have the chance to get qualifications or join other courses
- Have fun!
What are the classes like?
Family Learning courses are usually quite short, so you only need a couple of hours for many of them. You can move onto a longer course if you want to, and we can help you to decide what’s best for you. Some of the courses are just for adults, some involve the children too. Check this for each course. Our groups are welcoming, and our tutors are experienced and friendly.
Family Learning courses normally take place in primary schools or children’s centres and are open to parents/carers of children who are there. Sometimes we run courses in other places which are open to any parent/carer.
We will provide most of the things you will need, but it’s helpful to bring a pen.
