Overview
This course is for adults who are currently working and want to improve their workplace knowledge and confidence, or looking for work and want to gain recognised qualifications to strengthen their CV. The course is especially useful if you are interested in roles in working with children, child development, teaching and supporting teaching and learning. This course is suitable for new parents and is free for everyone aged over 19.
You will complete a bundle of short, recognised workplace courses on a virtual learning platform called Virtual College. The courses you will complete are the following: Early Child Development Foundation; Attachment and Child Development, and Safer Sleeping for Babies. Together, these courses help you understand and give you a greater awareness of how to prepare to work with children and babies. Learners will be equipped with the relevant knowledge to be able to adapt their working practices in
Learning takes place online, with guidance from a tutor. You will join the course at set times, over 3 weeks and each week includes one 2-hour online session. Your tutor will support you during sessions and help you understand the course content. You may also be asked to complete a small amount of learning between sessions.
