Skills builder; creating a digital calendar for everyday life

Overview

If you are an adult with learning difficulties and disabilities or you are being supported on a day-to-day basis but hope to be more independent in your daily life, then this course is designed for you.

You will learn how to select edit and import digital photographs to make your own unique calendar for 2027. You will explore distinctive styles and techniques to design your calendar and the processes needed to develop a professional calendar. You will have the opportunity to purchase additional calendars for family and friends, if you want to. 

Each session will be 2.5 hours long. You will be taught by a supportive and friendly tutor who will provide lots of practical help and guidance. Our classes are small and welcoming, you will work with others and on your own, using a variety of resources provided by the tutor. This course is free.

Entry requirements

This course if free for anyone who is 19 and over and is a resident in Devon. Please contact your local Learn Devon Centre who can give you further information and advice.

Assessment criteria

There will be a simple ILP (Individual Learning Plan) which the tutor will discuss with you individually, to make sure the class is meeting your needs. You will also take part in discussions in the group about the session’s activities.

What do I need?

A pen and notebook would be useful to make notes. If you have a mobile phone, tablet, or digital camera you would like to use please bring them with you. All other resources/equipment will be provided for your use during the course. Optional – you may need money to purchase additional calendars, if required.

Funding information

We provide Tailored learning opportunities on behalf of the Devon and Torbay Combined County Authority (DTCCA) who fund this learning and have to collect personal data for government monitoring of funding. You must live in Devon and have been normally resident in the UK for the past 3 years and have a legal right to receive this funding. We normally provided these courses free of charge, but if a fee is charged to you as a learner or your employer then we only receive half the funding from the DTCCA.
