Overview

This course is for adults who are currently working and want to improve their workplace knowledge and confidence, or looking for work and want to gain recognised qualifications to strengthen their CV. The course is especially useful if you are interested in roles in leading and managing a team. This course is suitable for new parents and is free for everyone aged over 19.

You will complete a bundle of short, recognised workplace courses on a virtual learning platform called Virtual College. The courses you will complete are the following: Leading a Remote Team; Introduction to Emotional Intelligence, and Giving Constructive Feedback. Together, these courses help you understand how to effectively to manage a team to get the best out of the workforce, how to measure performance and carry out appraisals. You will learn how to manage emotions and recognise triggers

Learning takes place online, with guidance from a tutor. You will join the course at set times, over 3 weeks and each week includes one 2-hour online session. Your tutor will support you during sessions and help you understand the course content. You may also be asked to complete a small amount of learning between sessions.

Entry requirements

here are no formal entry requirements. You need a willingness to take part in online guided learning, time to attend the online sessions and motivation to complete short tasks between sessions. Our friendly and experienced tutors will support you to complete the courses.

Assessment criteria

Each course includes a short online assessment at the end. The assessments check your understanding of what you have learned. Once you pass each assessment, you will be able to download your qualification certificate straight away.

What do I need?

You will need to be able to use basic online tools, such as joining a Google classroom and clicking through online learning materials. You will need to be able to access your email to check for course links and information from your tutor Support can be provided if you are nervous about learning online.

You will need a laptop or PC with speakers and a microphone or a headset with earphones and microphone. You will need a good broadband internet connection to access the online sessions. The course will be delivered on Google classroom, and you will be sent joining instructions to attend.
