Introduction to programming (Level 1)
Overview
Have you ever wondered how computers work, what makes them tick or want to know how programmers create apps and websites? Or perhaps you are thinking of a change of career, want to help the children with their homework or just want to do something different with your computer? Are you a teacher using Scratch in the classroom? If so, this course is the course for you!
You will explore how computers process information and make the different programming languages used today. You will be introduced to a graphical programming environment “Scratch” and investigate how computer programmes are designed and built. You will use your programming skills to design and develop your own programmes and games and test your creations. You will create a portfolio of your work that will demonstrate your learning and be presented as evidence to achieve a Level 1 Award in Progra
This course will be delivered face to face in the classroom. It requires you to commit to the full course, which is for 3 hours a week over 18 weeks.
