Overview

This course is for anyone who wants to feel more confident and independent online. Whether you’re brand new or looking to brush up your skills, we will help you use the internet safely, save time, and make everyday tasks easier.

You will discover how to use a browser, shop safely, find reliable information, and use online services. You will build confidence with banking, the NHS app, Google, Teams and YouTube. You will also learn how to bookmark favourite sites and search smarter to find helpful resources and free online learning.

You will learn in a friendly small group with your tutor guiding you step by step. Expect practical activities you can use straight away at home. Your tutor will tailor parts of the course to your interests and support you with helpful feedback throughout.

Entry requirements

No entry requirements—just bring your curiosity! Some basic internet experience helps, and you may have completed a Beeline for Digital Skills course before.

Assessment criteria

There are no formal assessments—just supportive learning and hands‑on practice.

What do I need?

Everything you need will be provided, although you may wish to bring a notebook and pen to take notes.

Funding information

We provide Tailored learning opportunities on behalf of the Devon and Torbay Combined County Authority (DTCCA) who fund this learning and have to collect personal data for government monitoring of funding. You must live in Devon and have been normally resident in the UK for the past 3 years and have a legal right to receive this funding. We normally provided these courses free of charge, but if a fee is charged to you as a learner or your employer then we only receive half the funding from the DTCCA.
