ESOL: Speaking and listening for speakers of other languages
Overview
This course is for people living across Devon who do not speak English as their first language. You will learn to speak and listen in English with more confidence and will finish in July 2027 with a Speaking & Listening exam that will give you a qualification.
You will learn English for everyday life in the UK. You will practise speaking and listening. You will learn useful words for talking to people, going to the doctor, using buses and trains, and understanding British culture. You will meet other learners and make new friends.
You will learn in Online through Google Classroom with a friendly teacher. You will read in pairs and small groups (via breakout rooms), discuss the reading, take part in fun activities, and use different reading materials. Your teacher may give you small tasks to practise at home. If you need support with learning online, our Learning Advisors can enrol you on a Digital Skills course near to where you live to get some practise first.
