ESOL: Speaking and listening for speakers of other languages
Overview
This course is for people who do not speak English as their first language living in and around Newton Abbot. You will learn to speak and listen in English with more confidence and will finish in September 2027 with a Speaking & Listening exam that will give you a qualification.
You will learn English for everyday life in the UK. You will practise speaking and listening. You will learn useful words for talking to people, going to the doctor, using buses and trains, and understanding British culture. You will meet other learners and make new friends.
You will learn in Passmore Edwards Centre (Newton Abbot Library) with a friendly teacher. You will work with other learners and by yourself. You will play games and do fun activities. Your teacher may give you small tasks to do at home.
