Overview
This course is for adults aged 19+ who want to develop their understanding of working with people with mental health needs. It is suitable for those entering health and social care, volunteers, or anyone wishing to better support individuals experiencing mental ill-health.
You will learn about mental health, the role of mental health workers, duty of care, care planning processes, and how to support individuals during mental health change. You’ll build core knowledge to understand needs, risks, legislation, professional roles, and support pathways.
Learning takes place through online tutor-led sessions, discussion, structured tasks and guided activities that help you build a portfolio of evidence. This qualification is knowledge-only, with no work placement required.
