If you would like to enjoy the benefits of being online but are not sure where to start, this course is for you. Whether you want to stay in touch with friends, explore the internet safely, or feel more confident using websites and the Internet, we will guide you step‑by‑step. Perfect for beginners or anyone who feels a bit lost in the digital world.

You will discover how to get online confidently and stay safe while browsing. We will show you how to find and save useful websites, set up and use email, and create simple documents like letters. You will also learn how to access everyday online services—shopping, banking, NHS and GP services, travel information, and more—so you can navigate the digital world with ease.

Learning takes place face‑to‑face with an experienced tutor in a friendly, supportive classroom. You will take part in practical activities and work in small groups so you can build your skills at a comfortable pace.

Entry requirements

All you need is enthusiasm and a commitment to attend all five sessions. No previous digital knowledge required.

Assessment criteria

Your tutor will give you regular feedback to help you understand your progress. You will also use an Individual Learning Plan to keep track of what you’ve achieved and what to work on next.

What do I need?

Everything you need for this course will be provided by Learn Devon. You may like to make your own notes so a pen/pencil and notebook may be useful.
