Award in cybersecurity (Level 1)

Overview

Would you like to improve your knowledge of cybersecurity? Whether you are looking for a career in cybersecurity, are working in the industry already or would just like to understand this important area better this course is for you.

This course introduces the essentials of cybersecurity, including the identification of threats, vulnerabilities, and techniques to protect digital assets. This single unit qualification is designed for learners to learn about cybercrime. They will understand routine protective methods used to maintain cybersecurity including the principles of vulnerability and penetration testing and user access control.

The course will be delivered online with an experienced tutor to guide you through the course.

Entry requirements

You will be asked to undertake a short assessment prior to the course to ensure that you have the digital skills needed for the course. An understanding and awareness of the current digital landscape and security issues would be of benefit.

Assessment criteria

During the course you will build a portfolio of evidence of what you have learned to evidence your progress towards the award.

What do I need?

You will need a laptop or desktop computer that is capable of accessing our Google based learning systems. You cannot use a mobile phone to access the online sessions

If you wish to make notes, you may want to bring a notepad and pen.
