This introductory course is suitable for adults who are interested in understanding how psycholgy can help us understand ourselves and the world around us. It is ideal for those with an inquisitive mind who enjoy exploring fascinating topics including the brain, confidence, performance, stress, resiliance, and our connection with nature. Learners may be returning to education, developing a personal interest, or considering their next steps into further learning, volunteering or employment.

On this course, you will explore a range of fascinating psychological topics that help explain how we think, feel and behave. You will discover how the brain processes information and shapes perception, learn what sport psychology can teach us about confidence, pressure and performance, explore the psychology of stress and resilience, and investigate how nature and our surroundings influence wellbeing. You will also be introduced to key psychological theories and real-world applications.

You will learn in a supportive and welcoming environment. Sessions include tutor-led teaching, group discussion and interactive activities, with opportunities to share ideas and explore topics together. Your tutor will guide you step by step at a comfortable pace.
