Community Works
This programme of learning is for anyone with a learning disability or difficulty who would like to increase their skills and become more independent.
Developing essential skills will open up opportunities and support you to move towards looking for work and finding a job.
Through these courses we offer the chance to achieve qualifications, including ‘Personal and Social Skills’ and ‘Preparing for Work’.
These courses will provide essential digital skills to help you navigate your way in a digital world. Everyday English and maths skills are also embedded throughout our courses.

What are the classes like?
Our groups are small and welcoming with no more than 12 learners per class. Our tutors are friendly, patient and passionate about helping our learners gain the skills that they need. They work with our Higher Level Learning Support Assistants who are at hand to help you with any learning difficulties. Using a Individual Learning Plan (ILP), our tutors will provide you with feedback to help you achieve your learning goals.
How can you enrol?
To join one of our Community Works courses you will need to fill in our contact form to arrange a call back from our team. Alternatively, you can call the nearest Learn Devon office at your convenience.
During the call, our friendly team will arrange an initial skills check appointment for you with one of our Learning Advisers. You may also meet our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator to discuss your support needs and develop a Learning Support Plan. If needed, your personal assistant or support worker can attend the appointment with you.
