“My first year as an apprentice has flown by!”

Posted on: 29 September 2017

Our five apprentices at Learn Devon are about to complete their first year with us. Here, Emily, who is working in our Business Support team, tells us about her year.

I can’t quite believe I’ve come to the end of my first year of my apprenticeship with Learn Devon already! It’s amazing to look at the progress I’ve made throughout the year, both in my qualification and in my day to day work.

Over the course of the year, I’ve chosen and completed 15 units from the OCR Business and Administration framework. For each unit, I’ve completed research tasks, as well as working with my colleagues at Learn Devon on practical projects.

Every day has been different, and I’ve taken part in so many different activities in projects to help develop my skills in a whole range of administrative areas. From data management and spreadsheets, to responding to emails both internally and externally, and even organising the office Christmas meal, I’ve just about covered every aspect of office life!

I would definitely encourage anyone who is deciding what to take as their next step in education to have a look in to doing an apprenticeship!
