We have some fabulous evening and weekend courses in arts and crafts, German and digital photography starting in May – perfect if you work 9 to 5 or have other commitments during the day. Check out what’s on when in the list below.
If you see something you’d like to do, but it’s not on in your area or the times or dates don’t suit you, find more courses using our online search or contact your local centre – if there’s enough interest in your area, they may be able to put on your course.
Bookbinding and Printmaking: using leather and recycled materials
The Mansion, Totnes. Wednesdays 2 May – 6 June 7 – 9pm
Explore aspects of printmaking and bookbinding as a creative craft. This is a course suitable for all levels; by the end of the course you will have produced a hand bound book and a number of prints using a single or combination of techniques. Find out more.
German: Beginners Plus
Passmore Edwards Centre, Newton Abbot. Thursdays 3 May – 5 July 7 – 9pm
This is the next step for learners who have completed one or more Beginners courses in German, or for those who have some knowledge of German and who wish to continue building and consolidating their knowledge. Find out more.
Kennaway Centre, Exmouth. Tuesday 8 May 6 – 8pm
This I s suitable for complete beginners and also for those who wish to build on basic core skills. Explore the exciting possibilities of watercolour, colour mixing and abstracts inspired by the Bauhaus artists. Find out more.
Kennaway Centre, Exmouth. Saturday 5 May 10am – 3pm
This course is for both beginners who would like to explore the simplest techniques of drawing the figure and for those who wish to build on basic core skills. Starting with gestural marks in response to pose you will then explore the 5 main elements of drawing: line, tone, form, space and proportion. Find out more.

Digital Photography: an eye for a photograph
Arts Centre, Bideford. Saturdays 12 May – 19 May 10am – 1pm
This course is suitable for all levels. Take part in guided photo shoots around town. Please note that the course may involve outdoor photo-shoots with some walking. Find out more.
