Featured Five: upcoming courses not to miss this month

Here’s our latest pick of courses starting soon across Devon. These include some great craft workshops, as well as some relaxation, creative writing and family language courses.
If you see something you’d like to do but it’s not on in your area or the times or dates don’t suit you, find more courses using our online search or contact your local centre – if there’s enough interest in your area, they may be able to put on your course.
Poetry in the Park
Alexander Centre, Tavistock. Friday11 May 12:30 – 3:30pm
Take a stimulating walk in town, observing places, artefacts and things in nature to get ideas for writing. You will then be guided to put together your thoughts and ideas into prose i.e. poetry or story writing. Find out more.
Yoga for Beginners
The Manor House, Dawlish. Monday 14 May 9:30 – 11am
This course will introduce you to simple yoga postures to help strengthen your body while at the same time increasing your flexibility. Find out more.
Basic Holiday Italian
The Mansion, Totnes. Wednesday 16 May 10am – 12noon
This course is suitable for beginners who would like to learn to speak Italian. This 3-week course will introduce you to Italian pronunciation and simple everyday phrases and expressions. Find out more.
Wetfelt a picture: Using needle felt

Come and learn about wetfelt to create a fabulous felty picture which can be used as a wall hanging or made into a cushion, tea cosy or bag! Find out more.
Spanish for a Family Holiday
Parents/grandparents can bring children with them to this class, as it is aimed at families. You will be introduced to Spanish pronunciation and simple everyday phrases and expressions.
