Featured Five: Courses not to miss this July

We’re half way through the year, summer has finally arrived and here’s our latest pick of courses starting soon across Devon. These include some great art and craft courses and workshops.
If you see something you’d like to do but it’s not on in your area or the times or dates don’t suit you, find more courses using our online search or contact your local centre – if there’s enough interest in your area, they may be able to put on your course.
Lantern Centre, Ilfracombe. Thursday 4 July, 12:45 – 2:45pm.
You will create unique garden ornaments and hangings, using those interesting bits of driftwood and shells. Suitable for complete beginners. Find out more.
Stained glass workshop: try it out
Torrington Town Hall. Thursday 11 July 2:30 – 4:30pm
In this workshop, you will be making a small stained-glass object in a fun, friendly and supportive atmosphere. Find out more.
Creative writing: starting a book

Beginners Sketch & Stitch: Embroidery Botanicals
Ockment Centre, Okehampton. Wednesday 17 July, 9:30am – 4pm.
You will have the opportunity to learn some basic sketching techniques and some basic and fancy hand stitching techniques to sew an embroidery botanical work of art. Find out more.
