Featured Five: Courses not to miss this October

As we continue with our autumn programme, here’s our latest pick of courses starting soon across Devon. These include some great craft and computer workshops.
If you see something you’d like to do but it’s not on in your area or the times or dates don’t suit you, find more courses using our online search or contact your local centre – if there’s enough interest in your area, they may be able to put on your course.
Dressmaking for beginners
Kennaway Centre, Exmouth. Wednesdays 3 October 10am – 12:30pm
This course is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience who want to refine their sewing skills. Find out more
Mosaics for your garden
Arts Centre, Bideford. Thursdays 4 October 12 – 2:30pm
This workshop is suitable for anyone who would like to learn how to make a mosaic garden decoration, using reclaimed materials and tesserae tiles. Find out more
Computer skills surgery
Exmouth Library, Exmouth. Tuesdays 9 October 10am – 12noon
If you have a laptop, tablet or iPad and struggle to operate it or have a specific skill need, you can attend this small informal group and receive support. Find out more
iPad: beginners
Passmore Edwards Centre, Newton Abbot. Thursdays 11 October 12:30 – 3pm
This course is suitable for people with basic knowledge of using ICT. You will get support and feedback through one-to-one discussion with your tutor as well as participate in general group discussion. Find out more
Pottery for improvers 2
Arts Centre, Bideford. Mondays 29 October 2:30 – 5pm
This course is designed for those with prior ceramic experience. You will learn specific set skills and will be shown how to make, design/render drawings. Find out more
