Using email on your mobile device

Overview

This course is for those that have a smartphone, tablet or similar mobile device and would like to use it to communicate using Email. Email is still the most widely used electronic communication technology and makes getting in touch with family, friends and organisations easy.

Suitable for users of both Android (Samsung, Google etc.) and Apple devices you will learn what Email is and how you can use it to keep in touch with others. You will also learn how to use folders to organise messages and steps you can take to reduce “spam” messages.

This is an informal classroom-based session with one of our experienced tutors. You will learn in a small group with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and practice on your device.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. You will need to bring your smartphone or tablet with you to use during the session. Ideally you will have an email app and email account set up, but your tutor can help you set one up in the session.

Assessment criteria

There is no assessment, your progress during the session will be monitored by your tutor.

What do I need?

You will need a working smartphone, tablet or other similar mobile device capable of accessing the Internet. You may find it useful to bring a notepad and pen.
