Award in mentoring (Level 2)
Overview
Do you work or volunteer in a support service and interested in developing mentoring skills? This nationally recognised Level 2 qualification enables you to gain a deeper understand the role of a mentor and develop the skills needed to become an effective mentor.
You will: Gain insight into the role and practice of mentorship; be clear about mentor/mentee relationships; ensure you follow good practice ; develop the specific skills and understanding you will require in order to mentor ; reflect on your own learning and work performance; understand the benefits of mentoring; understand legal and ethical mentoring requirements.
Most of the learning happens through tutor led face to face or online sessions and independent research. There will be a mixture of tasks and discussions, Q&A and time to practice your skills. If the session is online, the tutor will use break out rooms for small group work and there will be some e-learning to support your development. You will be encouraged to share good practice with other learners in group discussions.
