Intermediate ESOL daily conversations

Overview

If you have been learning English as an additional language and have progressed to Entry 3 or above but want to stretch your Speaking & Listening skills further, this is the course for you.

This course will enable you to practice conversations that you may have every day in the UK but with a more advanced level of vocabulary. You will also learn some new words and phrases to help in everyday situations. You will meet people from different countries and cultures, so it could be an opportunity to make friends and practice your language skills.

You will learn online through Google Classroom. There will be interactive group discussions, role-plays, listening activities, and vocabulary-building exercises. You will work with peers from diverse backgrounds to practice authentic conversations.

Entry requirements

Learners should have completed Entry 3 or equivalent and be able to participate in in-depth conversations in English.

Assessment criteria

There will be no exam in this short course. There will be informal assessment through participation in class activities, role-plays, and short speaking tasks. Feedback will be given throughout the course.

What do I need?

You need access to a laptop or tablet to enable you to engage with an online short course. It is not possible to engage fully via mobile phone.

Regular attendance and willingness to participate in discussions and activities. Bring a positive attitude and be ready to share ideas and experiences.

You will need a pen, pencil and paper.  If you have access to a dictionary, it may also be useful. 

What can I do next?

You can progress to a Speaking & Listening qualification for your level. Alternatively, you could join a Writing or Reading qualification.
