Improving your job search skills and employment potential (Level 1)
Overview
This course is for individuals 19+ who are unemployed but who are actively seeking employment. If you are signing on at a job centre your adviser or work coach will be supporting you to do many of the topics covered in this course, so why not use the practical tasks you must do to get a qualification in Job Search and Employment.
This course will help you: identify achievable job goals; know the key qualities required for employment;identify your own employability skills;apply for job with CV and cover letter; search for jobs;prepare for an interview;improve interview performance;understand the importance of business culture and values;understand the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees.
You will take part in discussions as well as working on your own and in a group. There will be an assignment each week (quizzes, finding things out, etc.) which you must complete in your own time before the next session as it counts towards the qualification.
