First steps to developing a logo for your business

Overview

Do you already have a business idea and plan and would like to learn how to promote it? A great logo builds recognition and inspires trust. This short course will teach you how to simplify your concepts and help you think about what you would like to say about your brand and business.

You will learn how to use digital design tools to help you create posters, logos, and social media posts for your business idea. You will learn how to choose the best logo type, design style and colour combination to market your brand. You will sketch out ideas and create drafts to provide inspiration for your business.

This course will be taught online using Google Classroom. You will need a Gmail account to be able to access the classroom. You will learn with your tutor, in a small group. Your tutor will support you throughout the course and will give you feedback.

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements for this course. Having a business idea already will help you get the most out of this short course. You will need basic digital skills to be able to benefit from this learning opportunity.

Assessment criteria

This course has no formal assessments.

What do I need?

You will need your own laptop or computer, with access to broadband. You will not be able to attend this course on your mobile phone. You might like to have a pen, pencil, or notebook handy to take notes.
