Digital Functional skills (Level 1)

Overview

This course is perfect for you if you have successfully completed our Digital Functional Skills Entry 3 level course. Or you may already be confident with basic digital skills and want to develop them further. The focus will be on developing digital skills for work. Even if you are not looking for a job, this course will help you to effectively use digital devices such as tablets, mobile phones, laptops and desktop computers.

You will learn about; Using devices and handling information, creating and editing, communicating, doing online transactions and being safe and responsible online. Most of the content is about digital skills for work. There is some content about digital skills for everyday life.

You will learn in your local Learn Devon centre. One of our experienced tutors will help you to learn. The course will include classroom-based activities in small groups.

Entry requirements

You should be confident with the basics of using digital devices for everyday life or you will need to have successfully completed our Entry Level 3 Essential Digital Skills course to enrol on this course. If not, there will be a short initial assessment to make sure you are on the best course for your needs

Assessment criteria

There is a timed assessment of up to 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete (with a 15-minute supervised break if required). You may be able to have extra time for the assessment if you need it. The assessment will take place at your local Learn Devon centre.

What do I need?

Everything you need for the course will be provided. You will also have your own Learn Devon learner account.

You may want to take notes, and therefore a notepad and pen may be useful.
