Developing English Skills: Performing a Play
Overview
This is a course for adults with learning difficulties who would like to build their confidence and speaking and listening skills for everyday life and work.
You will work with others to rehearse a play that has been written for a final performance. You will listen to all the parts of the story and choose your character and what your character says. Then you will work with the group to decide what props are still needed and either make or gather them for the final performance. You will choose who to invite to watch you in the performance.
You will be taught by a supportive and friendly English tutor who will provide lots of practical help, guidance and support. Working in groups and on your own, you will practice drama skills for the final performance. Your tutor will also suggest activities you can do outside of the class which will help you with your work in class.
