Award in preparing for self -employment
Overview
This course is for anyone thinking about or in the early stages of starting up their own business. You may have already completed an Entry Level qualification in business startup or self-employment and wish to progress.
the course will help you to become aware of the self-employment opportunities available, the skills and behaviours needed to be successful, the practicalities of being self-employed and the support available to you. You will also consider sources of income and types of expenditure, and associated record-keeping.
you will take part in discussions as well as working on your own and in a group. There will be some assignments which you must complete in your own time. The course may take place in a classroom with a tutor present and involve some online learning, or it could be a solely online class. If the course is virtual the tutor will work with the whole group in a virtual classroom as well as putting you into smaller groups in breakout rooms to complete tasks.
