About the tutor
Kate Munrow has worked as an English tutor for Learn Devon over the past 10 years teaching ESOL, Literacy, Functional Skills and GCSE English.
Qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Exeter University, a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education and Training from Plymouth University, an ADTLLS Subject Specialism (Literacy) qualification and an RSA/Cambridge certificate in TEFLA (Teaching English as a Foreign Language).
Helping people to feel confident about using English in their everyday lives is important to Kate.
“As adults, we often really worry about our English skills and it can stop us doing what we want to in life. It’s great to see how quickly people learn and start to take pride in their improved reading or writing skills and how this leads to other things: a new job, a new hobby or simply enjoying a good book.”
