Who is this course for?
This course may suit you
If you practice Mindfulness and want to embed it more fully in your life, want to re-establish recently lapsed practice, want to take charge of your mind and develop presence
You will learn about:
Mastering your mind: Freeing yourself from over-thinking
The Mindfulness Challenge: Practicing presence with the fight-flight-or-freeze response and the ‘amygdala hijack’
Using Mindfulness in difficult circumstances
Listening to the voice in your head
Using our senses and breath to develop presence
‘Mindfulness of Vibrancy’ – body scanning for our energy/vitality/aliveness
‘Surrender to Gravity’ – noticing when we ‘pull away’ from feelings and hold tension
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course via the online sessions. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need a laptop / PC / phone / tablet with a camera and microphone/headphones and a good internet connection.

“How will I learn?
You will be working with your tutor and other learners using an online video platform called Zoom. Your course will include practical tasks and discussions and your tutor will support you throughout. Your tutor will suggest ideas on what to practice in your own time.
What can I do next?
Continuing with Mindfulness practice supports wellbeing. After this course you may like to enrol on more of Learn Devon’s Mindfulness courses, which will begin again in January 2022, or another wellbeing- related course. You can also practice and build on what you have learnt using Apps such as Headspace or Calm. ”
