Pilates stretches for desk workers: FULL
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone that works sitting for long periods of time in front of a desk and needs to ease muscular tension and body stiffness and, can benefit from mind relaxation. Pilates stretches soothe and revitalise body and mind!
You will be learning in a virtual environment, online class using an online video platform called Zoom.
Your tutor will demonstrate how to safely perform practical Pilates stretches and exercises designed to help you to ease tension and to improve mobility, posture and alignment.
You will be joining this class virtually with other learners and you will be able to interact with them and with your tutor in discussing each stretch and exercise during the course.
You will also learn to relax using Pilates breathing when stretching and exercising standing up, sitting on a chair or lying down on the Mat; these techniques are aiming to ease your body and mind, improving your mobility and flexibility.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will give you a continuous feedback and support throughout the course helping you to make progress in your overall fitness and wellbeing.
Additional costs and requirements
You will need to fill in a health and safety questionnaire which will be sent to you before the beginning of this course. This information will be used by your tutor to support you with any of your learning and exercise needs and adapt exercises and stretches accordingly.
You will need a Pilates or Yoga Mat, a chair and a hand towel. Please wear comfortable clothes that allow movement and have some water bottle handy to keep you hydrated.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
Your tutor will advise you on practical stretches you can do every day to improve mobility and flexibility.
About the tutor
Doris is an experienced, qualified Level 3 Pilates Teacher. She a member of REPS, VCTC UK
She became a Pilates teacher after years of practice and study; she was inspired by the effects that Pilates have on body and mind, practicing Pilates regularly improves your overall fitness and wellbeing.
Pilates is suitable for all; the benefits of its exercises and stretches are proven therapeutically also, when recovering from physical injury or mental distress. Physiotherapist are recommending Pilates for these reasons. You must try it to experiment its effects!
Doris has explored different Pilates approaches, learnt from a variety of methods and is continuing to develop throughout her career, updating and innovating her teaching and applying this knowledge in her classes to individual needs.
