How to improve your communication skills
Who is this course for?
This workshop is for you if you would like to improve on communication. Communicating well is a skill which you can always improve on. Improve on communicating in your relationship with your family friends or colleagues. Do you find that sometimes people just don’t get it, or you have misunderstood what was being said? Well this workshop will improve on all aspects of you being heard but importantly what you have to say so you feel valued in your communications with others.
You will understand what communication is. How communication works. Also, how to improve on communication to be heard and valued. You will learn how to overcome barriers to communicating in aspects of your life.

Your tutor will be there for assistance and advice.

Please bring you lunch. Everything else supplied.
You may be eligible for a learner bursary if you can demonstrate that attending a course will improve your wellbeing. Eligibility is determined after a short interview with a member of our learning support team. You must be aged over 19 on 31st August 2019 and your household income below £16,009.50 to access this fund. Contact your local centre for more details.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
No, there is no need to do anything in your own time
About the tutor
Your tutor will be Teresa Willey. Teresa started working for Learn Devon in 2019 and teaches various wellbeing courses throughout Devon. Before joining us, Teresa worked with the Workers Education Association, started her own workshops on personal development and wellbeing and set up her own counselling practice.
When Teresa isn’t in the classroom, she enjoys playing poker, traveling and being outdoors, either in her garden or at the beach. On top of this, Teresa has four children and grandchildren and a puppy to keep her busy!
After having a rather varied life, Teresa has found her passion in teaching. It helps her meet new people and most importantly she gets to help them excel in their own personal growth!
