Who is this course for?

This course is for adults with learning disabilities that are looking for work and would like to build their confidence and develop work skills in a real-life work situation. Start at any time

Course content

You will experience what a ‘working day’ is like by being part of a team that supports local traders by producing a flyer that advertises local businesses. You will use and improve your communication and technology skills, literacy, numeracy, and practical skills. Full support and training will be given with the opportunity to practise each skill, offer ideas and share the skills that you have.

Support and feedback

Your tutor will support you and give you feedback on how you are doing. There will be lots of opportunities for you to learn, share and practise new skills and showcase them in a learning journal that you can share with your friends and family.

Holsworthy Community Works is only for adults with learning disabilities that are looking for work and would like to develop their work skills for future employment.

Will I have to do anything outside of the session?

You will need your own pencil case with a pen, pencil, and rubber.

Please note if regional lockdown is activated this course will be offered as on-line learning via Zoom. To be able to take part in online learning you will be sent a zoom invitation with your access code, you will require a PC with camera and microphone.
