Creative ways to wellbeing
Who is this course for?
Are you feeling anxious, low or stressed? Maybe your GP has suggested that doing something creative may help you.
Learn Devon is running a FREE short course covering a range of creative activities: Book-binding (Making a covered notebook or journal); Electronics (How to make a simple circuit board); Leathercraft (Making a key fob, wristband or phone cover); Mindfulness (How to find focus and enjoyment); Indoor Gardening (How to take cuttings and get free plants); Creative Writing (Get those thoughts and feelings down on paper). Each session will be a taster or an introduction.
You will be taking part in a range of creative and therapeutic activities. You don’t have to be an expert. We hope these taster sessions will help you find hidden skills and that you will enjoy learning new skills. We hope you will want to attend all the sessions.
Support and feedback
At the start and end of the course you will be asked to comment on what you have learned and what you have enjoyed. Each session is delivered by a different expert in the field who will encourage you, and give guidance and ongoing support so that you can see how you are gaining new skills.
Additional costs and requirements
You don’t need to bring any equipment. We are asking for a £3 contribution to course materials on the first session you attend.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
No, but you might want to take some of the skills you have learned and try them again at home.
