Who is this course for?

This course is for those who have an interest in history and enjoy researching backgrounds in order to write short stories and poetry based on historical people and places.

Course content

You will learn about:

– Developing ideas about

– Characters, Relationships, Events, Battles, etc.

– Dialogue

– Researching historical periods

Your tutor will support you throughout the course via the online sessions. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve

This course is suitable for those with GCSE English, equivalent or above.

Will I have to do anything outside of the session?

You will need a laptop / PC / phone / tablet with a camera and microphone / headphones and a good internet connection.

You will need pen and paper, laptop / PC / phone / tablet to jot down notes and a quiet space to work in.

“How will I learn?

You will be working with your tutor and other learners using an online video platform called Zoom.

During the sessions there will be set tasks and discussions with your tutor and other learners. You will work on developing your ideas around historical periods. Your tutor will give feedback and will support you throughout the course.
