A day in the life of...
Who is this course for?
An opportunity to do a workshop where you will discuss different ideas on how to write what one person does in a day. We will look at careers, the ‘ordinary person,’ the extraordinary person and work out a storyline which makes your story unique. Ideas for a story may include comedy, tragedy or somewhere in between!
Course content
You will work in groups and pairs to help develop and progress your ideas. Using planning devices, you will help structure thoughts & ideas to build the basis for your story. Attention to detail will also be encouraged through careful consideration and planning; thus fleshing out your character and setting.
Support and feedback
You will receive weekly online tutor feedback & during the session. Plus initial & end of course assessment, too.
Additional costs and requirements
Pen and paper or laptop.
No extra costs.
You may be eligible for a learner bursary if you can demonstrate that attending a course will improve your wellbeing. Eligibility is determined after a short interview with a member of our learning support team. You must be aged over 19 on 31st August 2017 and your household income below £15,276 to access this fund. Contact your local centre for more details.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will produce 4 pieces of work for the course.
