As well as his specialism in mathematics, Paul is also qualified as a teacher of English. Prior to entering teaching, Paul ran an antique restoration and French polishing business in North Devon. Through his work with Learn Devon, previous employment as a lecturer at North Devon College (now Petroc) and at schools and

colleges in North Devon, Paul has gained extensive experience of teaching people who find it difficult to get the qualifications they need at school. “When we are at school there are so many reasons for not learning what we’re supposed to, but when we are adults we can put things behind us and carry on from where we left off. Learning can boost your job prospects, your self-confidence, the way you see the world. We are never too old to learn, sometimes we just need a boost to get us going.”
