Spanish: beginners 1
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone wanting to learn greetings, numbers, basic vocabulary and how to introduce yourselves in Spanish.
No experience or knowledge necessary.
You will learn how to:
give and receive basic greetings and personal information.
tell the time and use numbers and currency
order and pay for food and drink in a restaurant or café.
ask for and give directions.
The focus will be on oral communication (speaking and listening) although some reading and writing will also be included.
Each session will focus on a different topic and the course will build week on week.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need to take notes, either using pen and paper or on laptop / PC / phone / tablet.
We will be using a textbook called – Spanish Pasos 1, 3rd or 4th edition by Rosa María Martin and Martyn Ellis.

“How will I learn?
The course is fun and varied. You will be taught individually, in pairs and in small groups. Your course will include a range of topics and learning methods such as role play, audio, video clips, games and quizzes.
There will be homework and it is useful to practice what you have learnt between sessions.
