Spanish: improvers 1
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone looking to improve their Spanish and has already completed Spanish Beginners 3.
During this course you will learn how to understand, speak and write on familiar topic and situations. Topics will include:
Health, going to the doctor, pharmacy, hospital
Culture food and drink, recipes
Transport trains, buses airports
Current affairs, events and news
Shopping and selling and renting house, boat.
Each session will focus on a different topic. Using present, past tenses and future tenses the course will build week on week.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course via the online sessions. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve and help you to build up confidence in the language.
Additional costs and requirements
This course is for anyone who has completed Learn Devon’s Spanish for beginners 3. It is also for those can understand basic words and phrases and interact in a simple way in Spanish.
If you are a new learner to Learn Devon, you are advised to speak with a tutor to find out if this course is the right level for you. Please contact us by email or phone customer services to arrange to speak with a tutor.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need a laptop / PC / phone / tablet with a camera and microphone/headphones and a good internet connection. You will need to take notes, either using pen and paper or on laptop / PC / phone / tablet.

“How will I learn?
You will be working with your tutor and other learners using an online video platform called Zoom. The course is fun and varied. You will be taught individually, in pairs and in small groups. Your course will include a range of topics and learning methods such as role play, audio, video clips, games and quizzes.
There will be optional homework and it is useful to practice what you have learnt between sessions.
Resources and additional information
The book “Spanish Verbs Tenses” by Dorothy Devney Richmond is a good book for your level, with information and exercises.
