Basic holiday Italian
Who is this course for?
Have you always wanted to learn Italian?
Learning a language can be daunting on your own. It’s much easier with a supportive tutor and a group, where you can practice with each other and share the joys and frustrations.
This course is for anyone who would like to try out a language for the first time before committing to a longer course
This 3 weeks course will introduce you to Italian pronunciation and simple everyday phrases and expressions.
You’ll take part in varied activities with some individual work, pair work and whole class presentations.
This short course will give you and your tutor time to find out how you learn best and what interests you about learning a new language.
Support and feedback
There will be a variety of activities to informally assess progress throughout the course. You’ll complete an individual learning plan (ILP) and there will be opportunities for you to discuss your aims and progress with your tutor. The tutor will also provide written feedback.
Additional costs and requirements
You’ll need a pen, paper and a cardboard wallet for storing notes, hand-outs and homework.
You may like to bring a drink or refreshments
This course is for anyone who would like to try out a language for the first time.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
Yes. You will learn more effectively if you are able to practice and revise between the sessions. Your tutor will give you short homework tasks to help consolidate and extend the work done in the weekly session.
You will also be encouraged to make use of other resources such as internet websites for self-study activities.
