Getting started with Office 365 - entry 2

Who is this course for?

This 10-hour course will give you an overview of Microsoft Office 365. This will be useful if you are planning to work in an administrative or office job, or simply want to use it for yourself.

Course content

You will learn how to access and use your Office 365 account and email (Outlook) and you will be introduced to some of the features that the program has such as Word, Excel Spreadsheets, and PowerPoint. You will focus on either Word, Excel or PowerPoint and learn about it in more detail, and how to use its basic functions.

Support and feedback

You will get feedback from your tutor in the sessions to let you know how you are doing, and you will also complete an individual learning plan to help you keep on track and so you know where you are in the course and what you need to do next.

Additional costs and requirements

Do you find it difficult to apply settings on a computer or device? Are you familiar with software like Word and Zoom and the internet, but find it difficult to use them effectively? Would you like to be able to organise files and folders, and recognise and solve simple technical problems? If you would like to develop these skills, this course is for you.

Will I have to do anything outside of the session?

You will need a pen, paper or notebook. All other equipment will be provided.

There will be an initial assessment before you start the course to make sure you are on the right course at the right level.

What can I do next?

You can go on to one our free Essential Digital Skills qualifications, which are longer, online courses (up to 45 hours), with a mandatory assessment at the end. This will give you an Essential Digital Skills Qualification.
