First steps to getting online
Who is this course for?
This short 2 hour is a great place to start if you are new to computers and getting online. You will receive a certificate after you complete the course.
You will learn how to turn on a device and update passwords and account information, use controls on a device, such as a mouse and keyboard for a computer, or touchscreen on a smartphone or tablet. You will make use of tools make devices easier to use such as settings to make content easier to read and you will interact with the home screen on a device. You will learn how to connect to the internet (including Wi-Fi) safely and securely and open a browser.
Support and feedback
You will get feedback from your tutor in the session to let you know how you are doing, and you will also complete an individual learning plan to help you keep on track and so you know where you are in the course and what you need to do next.
Additional costs and requirements
Do you find it difficult to use computers (laptops/personal computers) and devices (Mobile phones and tablets)? Do you find it tricky to get online to search for information and use email and software like Word, and Zoom? If you would like to develop these skills, this course is for you.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
All equipment for the course is provided. (Please do not bring your own device as it may not be compatible)
