Who is this course for?
This free online Zoom course is perfect for you if you already use the internet and have access to emails and already know your device(s). Learn how to use Zoom confidently so you can stay in touch with family and friends online. Knowledge of email and your digital device is required for this free online session, as the focus will be on Zoom only.
Access and download the free version of Zoom, install and open Zoom, understand how to set up and/or participate in a Zoom session, get to know the main controls to communicate with Zoom including microphone, camera and screen share, start a Zoom session and invite others, use Zoom to communicate with friends and family and find out about what else Zoom has to offer.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will give you continuous support to achieve your learning outcomes and will also give you feedback to let you know how you are doing, what you have achieved and what you need to complete during the session.
Additional costs and requirements
You will need a good internet connection and an up to date device (with a camera and microphone) that connects to the internet and can download Zoom. You will need an email account and anyone you would like to invite to a Zoom meeting will also need an email account. This is an online course. You will be using your own device (PC/laptop/tablet /mobile phone). It is also important that you can access and use email. It would be useful if you already have Zoom downloaded on your device.
About the tutor
Your tutor will be Colette Olah. Colette started working as a tutor for Learn Devon in September 2018 and delivers a variety of art and craft, employability and computer skills courses. She is a qualified art and design teacher who has worked in both mainstream and special education. Colette has also delivered Independent Life Skills to adults with learning disabilities and taught basic cooking, art and drawing skills in adult education classes in Worcestershire. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the many beautiful beaches in North Devon and also searching for bargains at flea markets and car boot sales. Colette enjoys teaching at Learn Devon because she is keen to help her learners progress and achieve their goals. She believes that lifelong learning and gaining new skills can create a sense of wellbeing and improved self-esteem and aims to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for all participants.
