ITQ Digital skills - spreadsheets
Who is this course for?
Do you want to learn how to organise your own personal budget, produce graphs and charts and store your own data? Or at work, do you want to be able to create spreadsheets to calculate tax, track performance or a basic payroll. The skill of understanding and creating spreadsheets is useful for both everyday life and work.
This course, Spreadsheet Software, is a single unit from a nationally accredited Level 1 qualification in Information Technology (IT).
It is suitable for learners who have experience and skills in using a computer at Entry Level and/or an Entry Level IT qualification. A Diagnostic Assessment will be carried out before the course starts to make sure it is the right course for you to study.
Progression routes from this course are to a full qualification at Level 1 or further level 1 units.
This course covers the following:
Using a spreadsheet to enter, edit and organise numerical and other data
Using appropriate formulas and tools to summarise and display spreadsheet information
Selecting and using appropriate tools and techniques to present spreadsheet information effectively
Support and feedback
Your tutor will give you continuous support to achieve your learning outcomes and will also give you feedback on your achievement and what you need to do to complete the unit.
Additional costs and requirements
This course is delivered online and provided free of charge. You will, however, need a computer or a tablet with a stable internet connection, as well as a built in or external microphone and camera to attend the course.
To be able to take part in online learning you will be sent a Zoom invitation with your access code. This code will be the same for every session.
It would be beneficial to have Excel installed on your Windows system (or similar software on Apple).
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
To enable you to get the most out of this learning opportunity, your tutor may ask you to practice skills that you have learned and complete some tasks in between the taught sessions.
About the tutor
Paul has been a tutor with Learn Devon since 2000, when he began teaching IT. Since then, he has expanded his teaching curriculum and taught a variety of courses, including Employability, Art, Digital Photography, Management Training and Shopping Online.
With extensive experience of working in the legal and financial sector in London and having been involved in projects in Thailand and Saudi Arabia, Paul uses his understanding and knowledge of the world of business in his teaching. He believes that people have a right to access learning opportunities and supports them to achieve their full potential.
In his spare time, Paul enjoys creating art, music and photography, and keeps active by walking and cycling. He reads widely and has an interest in psychology and philosophy.
