Who is this course for?
This free session is for those who are new to Universal Credit and would like to improve their computer skills in order to access UC online. We will cover completing your journal and talk through individual needs.

Informally by the tutor, you will have the opportunity to assess progress You will also complete a mini portfolio of handouts and exercises. You will be observed and guided throughout the workshop
Additional costs and requirements
Writing pad and pen.
A memory stick (flash drive) may be useful but is not essential.
About the tutor
Simon Longstaff currently works as an ICT and Maths tutor for Learn Devon. He also works at the University of St Mark & St John and as a Senior Design Engineer for Partech Electronics.
Simon has spent most of his working life in the field of Electronic Engineering and was previously the Technical Director of his own instrumentation manufacturing company before undertaking his teacher training.
Simon has a 1st class honours degree in ICT with Education from Exeter University, and a PGCE incorporating a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS), He also is a specialist in teaching Maths, gaining a level 5 Additional Diploma in Numeracy. He recently (2015) completed a Master’s Degree in Professional Practice (with Distinction) at the University of St Mark and St John, specialising in exploiting open source technology to create musical instruments within the Maker Community.
Simon is a keen musician and composer and has for the last twelve years performed each summer season at Sterts Theatre in their musical shows.
