Living in an Online World
Who is this course for?
This course is intended for those interested in learning more about the facilities available online. Basic IT skills only are required (using whatever method you currently use – e.g. tablet, smartphone, laptop etc.)
Understanding, accessing, registering (if necessary) and using the digital services that are part of the current world – Using email, accessing and searching the Internet, using online government services, as well as using Facebook, Twitter, and Ebay for those who wish to use them
Support and feedback
The tutor will work closely with you, monitoring progress and giving feedback and support on an ongoing basis
Additional costs and requirements
You are welcome to bring your own digital device (e.g. laptop, smartphone, tablet), although laptops and/or tablets will be available for use during the sessions if you don’t already have your own device.
You may be eligible for a learner bursary if you can demonstrate that attending a course will improve your wellbeing. Eligibility is determined after a short interview with a member of our learning support team. You must be aged over 19 on 31st August 2017 and your household income below £15,276 to access this fund. Contact your local centre for more details.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You are encouraged to use your device/s to practice and explore subjects covered between sessions
