Who is this course for?
Do you want to improve your English? Is it not your first language? Then this course is for you. It will help you with everyday communication tasks, improve your career prospects and help access further education. Do you want to improve your English? Is it not your first language? The course will be online, and you will be working in a small group with your tutor. It will lead to a qualification in either reading, writing or speaking and listening. Multiple levels are available.
Support and feedback
You will have a tailored learning plan and your tutor will guide you and support you. You will be offered regular feedback on your progress as well as lots of encouragement to help you achieve your goals!
Additional costs and requirements
This course is delivered online and provided free of charge. You will, however, need a computer or a tablet with a stable internet connection, as well as a built in or external microphone and camera to attend the course.
Please, ensure you are ready to join the session in a timely manner.
Additional items that will be useful during your class:
a pen and paper so you can make notes a folder to store any printed materials in a dictionary

Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
Practice English in everyday situations between the classes as much as you can if you want to progress faster.
There will also be weekly homework to help you achieve this.
About the tutor
Your tutor will be Belinda Barten. Belinda started working for Learn Devon in 2005 and teaches various subjects such as English language for speakers of other languages (ESOL), arts and crafts courses for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities and family learning courses in North Devon. Before joining Learn Devon Belinda worked abroad teaching English as a foreign Language and spent several years self-employed, working in art restoration. Her priority is to ensure learners feel relaxed in the classroom whilst having a good time and learning something new.
