An introduction to coaching
Who is this course for?
This workshop is for anyone who would like to know a little about coaching and may be thinking of becoming a coach themselves.
You will learn about the skills and qualities required for coaching and the difference between coaching and mentoring. You will also be introduced to holistic’ and ‘person centred’ coaching techniques. At the end of the workshop your tutor will suggest a variety of progression options that will enable you to expand your knowledge and understanding of this subject.
Support and feedback
You will receive two short forms known as Individual Learning Plans (ILP’s), one at the beginning of the workshop and one at the end. These will contain some short questions relating to the topics within the workshop. These forms will also give you the opportunity to feedback about your learning experience and how you would like to progress in your learning journey.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
This workshop is delivered online so you will need a laptop, computer, tablet or ipad and a good Wi-Fi signal. You might also find it useful to have a notebook and pen. When you have completed this workshop, you will receive a handout with all the key points and some useful links.
