Work skills: applying for jobs online
Who is this course for?
If you want to look for work online then this course is for you. You will need to be reasonably confident in using email and accessing the internet. The course is aimed at anyone who is actively seeking work or who would like to develop their skills and knowledge for future employment. Employment could mean either paid work or volunteering.
Please contact us in advance if you have never used a computer, so that we can support you through this course.
You will know how to look for, and apply for jobs online by:
• Searching for and locating employment sites online
• Knowing how to register yourself with an online employment site
• Searching for suitable jobs
• Composing and sending an email with your CV attached
• Replying to an email

Your tutor will give you support and feedback.
Additional costs and requirements
Please bring any information with you about the types of jobs you are interested in. You will also need to have an electronic version of your CV in “Word” format.
You should also bring a notebook and pen with you
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
No, but to get the most from the course you should continue your job searching activities in between sessions.
About the tutor
Caroline Gale has worked for Learn Devon for the past 18 years in a variety of roles. She has taught all age groups and abilities from preschool up to university level and has been involved in research, industry and running a rural business.
