Getting started with job search
Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at anyone who would like to feel more confident about searching for a job.
The course will include:
•Where to look for job adverts
•How to search on line
•Thinking about a suitable job
•Identifying your skills
Support and feedback
Your tutor will encourage you and give you regular feedback.

Additional costs and requirements
The only requirement is the ability to carry out the course online.
There are no additional costs.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
All you need to do to prepare for this workshop is to be able to get online.
About the tutor
Des Gauntlett currently works as a tutor for Learn Devon. Prior to this he worked for Nortel Networks for 14 years starting as an operator and finishing as a shift manager.
Des has an HNC in Mechatronics from South Devon College. Whilst working for Nortel Des also worked as a volunteer helping students to learn basic skills in the evenings.
After being made redundant Des decided to change careers and qualified as a Learning Support Assistant. Des worked briefly at South Devon College and was then offered a position as a teaching assistant working for Devon Adult and Community Learning. Des qualified as a tutor in 2007 and gained a Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTTLS) in 2010.
“I have worked mainly with adults with learning disabilities or difficulties for the last 9 years covering a range of topics and I feel privileged to be working with such a fantastic group of learners. The learners are enthusiastic and willing to learn which makes my job a real pleasure. I particularly enjoy teaching Local History, Computers and Digital Photography”
