Science matters

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone being supported on a day-to-day basis but hopes to be more independent and who is interested in finding out answers to everyday science questions.

Course content

On this course we will investigate everyday science questions like:

Can water travel uphill?

What travels quicker, sound or light?

Why does rain stay on the window?

Each week we will work together to find a way to prove why something happens.

Support and feedback

Your tutor will support you during the course and give you feedback on how you are doing. They will also help you with ideas on what to do next. You will work with your tutor on your targets within the structure of the course.

Will I have to do anything outside of the session?

You might like to bring an apron.

“How will I learn?

You will learn in small friendly groups and be carefully supported to create your performance and follow stage techniques. You will have the opportunity to gain confidence and make new friends.

What can I do next

If you would like to try to learn more science, then we may have further courses. You might like to try some new things or improve your maths and English.
